Dupioni Silk Swatches

We have countless customers who prefer showing in a Dupioni SILK show coat, simply because it’s the most luxurious fabric used to tailor Saddle Seat show coats and vests.

What exactly is Dupionai SILK?

Dupioni Silk originates from the fine thread with which the silkworm spins its cocoon - the thread being the fines and strongest natural fiber in the World.  As a protein fiber, silk is similar to human skin therefore making it ideal to wear in the show ring.

Why is SILK so special?

Silk SHIMMERS.  Silk colors radiate and assume a luminant character because of

Silk CARESSES.  Silk drapes beautifully due to its extremely fine and smooth fiber structure.

Silk COOLS. A silk show coat is ideal for those who show during the warmer Summer months - because it can absorb up to thirty percent of its weight in moisture without feeling damp. Silk will also absorb perspiration while permitting skin to breathe.

Silk WEARS.  Silk has a very delicate appearance, however, it’s relatively robust, resists odors/soil and is wrinkle/tear resistant.

Silk is SAFE.  Due to the protein structure, silk is one of the most hypo-allergenic fabrics - therefore - making it less likely to cause allergic reactions to the wearer.

Silk FLATTERS. Silk continues to remain a magical fabric for any figure size.  There is always excitement in our workroom when tailoring a show coat with Dupioni Silk.

We always have at least a dozen different silk colors in stock.  Through careful and thoughtful research, we have established an outstanding relationship with a premier silk mill.  A mill that takes great pride in consistently providing us with silk that shows nothing short of cutting edge properties.

He's the color of the nutmeg.
And the heat of the ginger...he is
pure air and fire; and the dull elements
of earth and water never appear in him, but only
in patient stillness while his rider mounts him; he is indeed a HORSE, and all other jades you may call beasts.

William Shakespeare, Henry V
